Wheel Alignment
Why You Need It
Incorrect wheel alignment can cause your tyres to wear unevenly, reduce fuel efficiency, and affect your vehicle’s steering and stability. Regular alignment checks help extend tyre life, improve fuel economy, and keep your car running safely and efficiently.
Wheel Balancing
Why You Need It
Unbalanced wheels can cause vibrations, uneven tyre wear, and strain on your vehicle’s suspension components. Regular wheel balancing helps ensure a smoother ride, extends tyre life, and enhances overall driving safety and comfort.
Tyre FAQs
The legal minimum tread depth is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre’s tread and around the entire circumference. Driving with tyres below this limit can result in 3 penalty points and a fine of up to £2,500 per illegal tyre. Remember: more tread means more grip, which keeps you safer on the road.
Most tyres have tread wear indicators - small, raised rubber bars in the tread grooves. When the tyre tread wears down to the same level as these indicators, it’s time to replace your tyres.
Maintaining the correct tyre pressure improves your car’s handling, safety, and fuel efficiency. Underinflated tyres increase fuel consumption because the engine works harder to maintain speed. Correctly inflated tyres also last longer, saving you money in the long run.
You should inspect your tyres regularly for signs of wear or damage - including cuts, bulges, lumps, and tears. If you spot any of these, have your tyres checked or replaced immediately to avoid safety risks. Tyre care is extremely important.
Incorrect wheel alignment can lead to poor handling, increased fuel consumption, and uneven tyre wear. Regular alignment checks help ensure your vehicle performs efficiently and safely.
