Important Tyre Information

  • The legal limit for tyre tread is 1.6mm across the central ¾ of the tread and failure to comply with this could result in 3 penalty points and a fine of up to £2,500 for each illegal tyre. More tyre tread means more grip and this keeps you safe.
  • Tread wear indicators help you to identify when your tyres require changing. When the tyre tread has worn down to the same level as the raised rubber indicators, tyre replacement is recommended.
  • Correct tyre pressures improve the handling and safety of your vehicle, as well as better economy: helping to reducing your fuel consumption, as under inflated tyre require more fuel to maintain speed, and prolonging you tyres life, which saves you money
  • You should frequently inspect your tyres for signs of damage including cuts, bulges, lumps and tears.
  • Wheels that are incorrectly aligned will reduce your handling, increase fuel consumption and cause your tyres to wear excessively.
